Have you ever dined out in the city and wished you could have brought your furry BFF along? Well, good news dog lovers–Philadelphia has no shortage of canine-friendly bars. You and your pup are inseparable so there’s no need excuse to leave Fido at home while you paint the town red. The awesome folks at DogVacay.com, a dog board and sitting service, have compiled a great list of places where you and your four-legged friend can grab some bites and booze together. (OK, so maybe your dog won’t be drinking but that’s cool–just make him the designated driver.)
BEST DOG-FRIENDLY BARS IN PHILADELPHIA
Fado Irish Pub
1500 Locust St, Philadelphia, PA 19102
The folks who frequent this Rittenhouse Square pub are so cool with well-behaved pups; it might as well be called Fido’s Irish Pub! Great beer and football (soccer) watching for 2-legged patrons.
The Druid’s Keep
149 Brown St, Philadelphia, PA 19123
As one Yelper writes, “Whitesnake playing on the jukebox. PBR in a bottle. Dogs.” This no-frills Northern Liberties dive is relaxed and low key, and almost always has a couple dogs chilling under the bar.
El Camino Real
1040 N. 2nd St. Philadelphia, PA 19123
They’re famous for their gourmet hot dogs, but there are also some really cool Northern Liberties pet dogs hanging with their owners at the bar. Your pup might resent you when you order the pulled pork mac n cheeseburger and don’t share.
Bourbon and Branch
705 N. 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19123
Rumor has it waiters will spoil your pup with a strip of bacon from the kitchen. A water bowl is nice, but bacon? You took it to the next level, Bourbon and Branch. Spring Garden dogs might be the most spoiled in Philly.
1601 E. Passyunk Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19148
The only Philly sushi bar we’ve been able to find in Philly that lets you bring your pup. BYOB with fast and friendly service right in East Passayunk.
Good Dog Bar
224 S. 15th St, Philadelphia, PA 19102
The hippest joint in Rittenhouse Square serving craft beer, signature bleu cheese burgers on 3 pooch-themed floors. Come. Sit. Stay. Good dog.
1100 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19107
The garage doors roll all the way up in the spring for a canine-friendly Olde City drinking spot. As long as your pup’s not spooked by the 6000 watt Clair Brothers PA system they pump the jams with, he’s welcome to rock-n-roll all night.
