There are tons of great delis and coffee shops hidden in the nooks and crannies of Wilmington’s business district. Nowadays these shops, originally opened by and for the everyday man, are frequented by suits, hipsters, and neighborhood regulars alike.
In keeping with the tradition of a neighborhood deli/coffee shop, it is tiny, noisy, and the fare is sometimes greasy but you won’t find a better breakfast muffin (warning: they are the size of a baby’s head) or lunchtime sub, burger, or hot dog. Happily, one tradition Benjamin’s doesn’t practice is rude service–everyone is super-friendly and attentive, which is great when you’re there at 8 AM on a weekday trying to get your coffee fix so you don’t go postal on your co-workers.

Dinner at Benjamin’s? Not a chance. Like just about everything else in Delaware, the restaurant closes (very) early–2:30 PM to be exact.
