The Only Travel Slippers You’ll Ever Need

1 min read

I travel a lot and I admit it. I’m one of those women who relentlessly punishes my feet by wearing heels all the time. If I could, I’d probably wear them to the gym (à la Mariah Carey), but the absolute worst place to wear heels is the airport. I’m always conscious of my travel clothes and I am disgusted at what passes for outfits at most airports–cartoon character pajama pants, tattered sweatshirts, flip-flops and socks. Yes, comfort is key when flying but one doesn’t have to sacrifice style for comfort–they can co-exist, folks.

I probably won’t stop wearing heels while running through the airport but I recently discovered Mahabis, makers of the most comfortable pair of luxury slippers I’ve ever worn and they’re perfect for travel, especially when flying. In addition to their unique shape, Mahabis can be used for indoor and outdoor use. Rubber soles, available in a variety of colors, can be attached to the bottom of the slippers for trekking outside and removed when you just want to lounge around inside. When I travel, I take my shoes off on the plane and slide my Mahabis on and use them as bedroom slippers in the hotel. I have wide feet and their non-restrictive shape is perfect for me.

The next time you’re thinking of taking off your shoes while on a plane (or any other mode of public transportation for that matter), slip into a pair of Mahabis. Trust me, your feet will thank you.

Unusual Museums Around the World

I’ve always been drawn to obscure things; I’ve never been attracted to the normal or what the cool kids were doing. In particular, I enjoy the unusual and the macabre—blame it on an enduring love of the works of Edgar Allan Poe—and I always seem to seek out bizarre and…
