I am always looking for products that make my life easier in the kitchen and, truth be told, if it makes me look like a whiz in the kitchen, I consider that a bonus.  This mandoline features a straight and wavy blade and a soft-grip dial for adjusting slicing thickness; the handle is also covered with OXO’s signature rubber grip that makes slippage a non-issue.  I have used the slicer for everything from easy-to-slice carrots to that usual nemesis of slicers–tomatoes.  Pomme frites are usually a pain to make at home unless you have the knife skills of Morimoto but with a turn of the mandoline’s dial, they are a breeze to churn out.  Also, OXO has made this product incredibly easy to clean with removable blades and a slicing platform that lifts up for easy wipe-down.
